Program of activities

Further to calls for proposal, the CENTAURE foundation can fund different projects:

RESEARCH PROJECTS

The Centaure foundation manages a call for proposal in medical research being in line with high-priority aims of its scientific program.
Each principal investigator (PI) belonging to one of the foundation’s teams can submit a letter of intention (LOI) and sent a project which are considered by the Steering Committee and by the Scientific Advisory Board.

Projects which are accepted must be in line with one of the 7 scientific aims of the foundation. Projects constitute the ‘Joint Program of Activity’ of the core teams. This Joint Program of Activity can last from 12 to 24 months. A budget – including labor force costs and/or running costs – is defined for each project. A following-up, regarding progress and results obtained for each project, is ensured by both coordinators of the scientific aims and by the Steering Committee.

POST–DOCTORAL POSITIONS IN TRANSPLANTATION FIELDS

A number of positions in the ‘Sciences of transplantation’ are opened and financed by the CENTAURE foundation. This funding is valid for one year and can be renewable. These positions are available each year from October 1st within one of the core teams of the foundation.

Criteria of eligibility:
Doctoral students, who graduated in France or abroad, or defending a thesis before September 1st in the candidacy year can apply, except for students having submitted a thesis in one of the core team doctorate school.

Scientific excellence will be the criteria for which the Foundation Steering Committee will base its selection.

Each post-doctoral student hired will have the professional status of a post-doctorate employee (holder of a temporary work contract) in the foundation and will earn a salary according to the rules defined by the foundation (please refer to the salary chart). He will benefit from the French health care system and health insurance. He will be involved in scientific activities of his hosting team; in particular he will take part in seminars and work groups. The hosting team will make sure that the student has good working conditions.

At the end of his stay, each post-doctoral student will write a document regarding its scientific activities; a final report compared to its initial project and will detail its goals. If the student stays 2 years, the student will also write a mid-term report. This report will be an argument required for asking for an extra year. This report will be analyzed by the Steering Committee.
