President of the Foundation:
Jean-Michel DUBERNARD
Born in 1941, Jean-Michel Dubernard was a former house officer of the Harvard Medical School, doctor of medicine and of human biology. He is now a teacher at the Lyon I University, researcher at Inserm, and has been the director of the urology and transplantation surgery department of the Edouard Herriot Hospital. He is at the origin of many achievements in the field of transplantation, he accomplished the first pancreas and adrenal allotransplantations (1977), the first allotransplantion of the one hand (1988) and the first allotransplantation of both hands (2000). He is also at the origin of the extraordinary face transplantation in 2005 in collaboration with Professor Devauchelle in Amiens. This famous scientific career is coupled with a great career in politics. In 1986, J-M Dubernard was elected Depute of the Rhône at the French National Assembly and was also president of the cultural, social and family Committee until 2007. Jean-Michel Dubernard was also a member of the High Council for the future of the Health Insurance, member of the Supervisory Board for industrial innovation and member of the counseling Council for public finance. From 1983 to 2001, he was a deputy mayor in the town council of Lyon. Since October 2007, Jean-Michel Dubernard is also the president of the CENTAURE scientific cooperation foundation dedicated to the sciences of transplantation.

Jean-Paul SOULILLOU
Born in 1944, Jean-Paul Soulillou became a house officer of Nantes Hospital in 1969. After immunology studies in 1969 and a stay at the Harvard University (1974)), hewill become an immunology specialist and gradually will head towards the management of the kidney graft program in the hospital of Nantes. He is nominated Clinical chief assistant at the University Hospital of Nantes (1975/7980) and professor of clinical immunology at the University fo Nantes (1980) and director of Inserm Unit # 211 “Unit of research dedicated to effectors on T lymphocit cells” (1986). Then in 1991, he became director of the ITERT (Institute of Transplantation and Research on Transplantation). Four years later, he created a new Inserm Unit (U437): Unit of research on immuno-intervention for allotransplantations and xenografts, followed by the creation of the U634 (in 2000) with the same research theme. Jean-Paul Soulillou has written many international publications and was from 1999 to 2002 president of the medical and scientific Council for the French graft Agency. Jean-Paul Soulillou has been a senior member of the ‘French University Institute’ since 2002. Since October 2007, Jean-Paul Soulillou is the director of the CENTAURE 'RTRS'. François GRIMONPREZ
Born in 1968, François Grimonprez graduated from the polytechnic school (Univeristy of Lille) as an engineer. He also has a postgraduate certificate in public healthcare (University of Paris 11) and a postgraduate certificate of economics in healthcare (Univeristy of Paris 1 – Panthéon – Sorbonne). After being an R&D manager in IBM (Birmingham) and chief engineer at the University Hospital of Lille, he has held the position of clinical research director at the University Hospital of Rouen in 1993. As an executive vice-president at the National Centre for Hospital Expertise (CNEH) François Grimonprez has managed from 1996 several departments, technical supports centre, technological innovation, industrial strategy and foreign departments. In 2001, François Grimonprez worked in THALES where he organized adviser activities in the field of health and managed- as a certified professional coach – the professional development of managers and executive managers for the Consulting Company.In 2005, François Grimonprez became a senior consultant of the AYMARA consulting group, and is also now a teacher at the Paris Dauphine University. Sinc October 2007, François Grimonprez serves as the General Secretary of the CENTAURE foundation.

Gérard ESTIVAL
Gérard was born in 1946, and graduated from the ESLSCA School as a certified public accountant. In 1997, he became an office member of the Chamber of International Commerce of Nantes and Saint-Nazaire and became the president of the Sciences Com’ School in 2003. In 2004, he has been elected as first vice-president of the Chamber of International Commerce and has been in charge of training questions and more particularly in charge of higher education. Since 2006, Gérard Estival is the president of the Audencia Management School in Nantes. He is also the regional associate director for Deloitte and InExtenso (firm of auditors and certified public accountants), in charge of the Nantes office. Since 2008, Gérard Estival is the Treasurer of the CENTAURE foundation.

Christophe LEGENDRE
Born in 1957, Christophe Legendre was a houseman of the Montpellier Hospital in 1980. He then spent 3 years in Montreal at the McGill University in the Immunogenetic laboratory
(Pr Ron Guttmann). In 1992, he has been appointed as a nephrologist at the Descartes University in Paris and has practiced medicine in Necker Hospital. He became chief of the Nephrology Department of the Saint-Louis Hospital in Paris from 1997 to 2004, and chief of the Adult Renal Transplantation Department at the Necker Hospital in Paris. Christophe Legendre has written more than 200 international publications dealing with different aspects of the renal transplantation (evaluation of immunosuppressors, virus diseases [CMV, hepatitis B and C, HHV-8], individualization of immunosuppression, histology of the transplanted kidney). Since 2005, Christophe Legendre has been a member of the board of directors for the Biomedicine Agency and has been an associate publisher of the American Journal of Transplantation. Christophe Legendre is one of the two Scientific Directors of the CENTAURE foundation.

Emmanuel MORELON
Born in 1963, Professor Emmanuel Morelon studied medicine at the Necker School of Medicine in Paris in 1982. Very soon during his internship in Paris, he headed towards a career as a nephrologist in transplantation. In 1997, he was named assistant professor in the Transplantation Department at the Necker Hospital. Simultaneously Professor Morelon received a training in basic immunology in the laboratory of Professor Alice Dautry-Varsat at the Pasteur Institute. He worked on molecular mechanisms of γc cell expression, which plays a major part in the regulation of immune response (from 1994 to 1997). Since 2005, Emmanuel Morelon has been in charge of the renal and pancreas transplantation program in the Transplantation Department at the Edouard Herriot Hospital in Lyon. He has also been involved and is still part of the composite tissue graft program. Since 1998, Emmanuel Morelon has developed some experience in using new immunosuppresors as well as immunology in transplantation as part of the Inserm Unit #851 which he joined in 2005. Professor Morelonn is one of the two Scientific Directors of the CENTAURE foundation.
